We actively seek to support & enhance our communities

Our Communities

We are committed to responsible operations, and we take social, environmental, and economic considerations into account with all our development projects. We don’t just comply with regulations – we actively seek to support and enhance the communities where we work.

Sports Sponsorships

We love supporting schools and teams in many of the areas where we have residential developments, and we are delighted to be the main sponsor of the Éire Óg Cork Camogie team in Ovens, Cork, which is a club that is both close to our hearts and close to where our head office is located. We know that supporting local sports in the areas of our developments enhances community life.

We work with a number of GAA clubs across Ireland and support fundraising events for these dynamic and essential beating hearts of the community.

We believe in young people.

University and School Mentoring

We believe in young people. We believe that we have a role to play in supporting young people. We do this by giving leadership talks in our local schools, and by making presentations and taking part in conferences at third level institutions.

We want to help young people to develop skills and to set and achieve their goals, and so we take part in relevant committees, and provide mentors to educational institutions.

We build communities

Communities and Wellbeing

Accessibility

All of our developments are fully accessible and we firmly believe that the surrounding areas should also be accessible for all.

‘Skills on Wheels’

We support Crann Centres ‘Skills on Wheels’ programme, a structured wheelchair training programme that uses adapted physical activity programmes to improve fitness and supports continued independent living.

Accessible walking / running track

We installed a wheelchair accessible walking / running track, which is used by the whole community, at Scoil na Mainistreach, Celbridge, Co Kildare.

Defibrillators

We also supply defibrillators to residential communities across the country where we have delivered large scale housing developments.

Charities

We don’t just support, we act. Our company sets aside dedicated ‘charity days’ for our staff to participate in local community and charitable activities.

We also support fundraising campaigns, some recent campaigns have supported charities such as Children’s Health Ireland, Cystic Fibrosis and Dogs for the Disabled. Our work and long-term commitment to our own local area has also been recognised by an award from the Ballincollig Business Association.

Our Heritage

As a construction company we pride ourselves in understanding property and how it is developed, maintained and enhanced for the benefit of everyone.

Historic Houses – Heritage Prize

We have partnered with Historic Houses in Ireland to sponsor an award devised by The Irish Aesthete which recognises the work by owners to preserve privately-owned heritage properties.

Honan Chapel

Honan Chapel at UCC is a building of strong cultural and historical significance. One of our founding directors, Michael O’Flynn sat on the committee that oversaw its refurbishment and O’Flynn Group was one of the donors.
